The Sanctuaryreversed
Before you rest or push on, stop at the water and look at how you really are.
The card
A small round shrine of white stone stands among tall dark cypresses. In the doorway an old keeper raises a lit lamp, and warm light fills the room behind him. Worn steps lead down toward you.
Beside those steps stands a stone basin of water. It sits at the point where the road ends and the rest begins. You pass it before you climb, and it holds the evening sky as it is.
Essence
The Sanctuary is refuge: a place set apart where you can rest and be restored, and the part of you that stays whole whatever the world does. Reversed, that refuge is hard to reach. You may walk past the door because you think you have not earned it. Or you may hide inside so long that rest turns into avoidance. Either way, the renewal does not happen.
For today
The basin is there so you can see yourself before you go in. Today, take that pause. Look at how tired you are, what you are carrying, and what you keep avoiding. Do not fix any of it yet. Just look, the way still water shows the sky without changing it.
What does the water show you when you stop explaining yourself to it?
If you see that you are worn out, go up the steps and rest without bargaining. If you see that you have been hiding, wash your face and walk back down. Either answer is fine. The point is to choose from what you saw, not from habit.
